In the Apple Launch Event, the company has launched latest smartphones series which are iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The company gave more limelight to the iPhone X, preferably because it is a new product in comparison with iPhone 8.
But, how better is it in terms of features, memory, storage and processing power? And, will the users like it more than iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus? That’s a question on the mind of most people.

Displays:
Let’s talk about the display of both devices first. The iPhone X is a 5.8inch smartphone with True Tone OLED display and screen resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels.
On the other hand, we have iPhone 8 with 4.7inch screen, True Tone LCD Display, having 1334 x 750 pixel resolution with a 65.6% screen-to-body ratio.
The iPhone X is obviously bigger in looks and provides better screen resolution. But the iPhone 8 isn’t far behind with its LCD display, which isn’t as better as the first one but still outnumbers other Android based smartphones and provides stunning visual display.
There is another reason why Apple iPhone 8 doesn’t feature the OLED display. And that is associated with the RAM memory. This point will be discussed in greater detail in the performance section. For now, just understand that OLED display is far greater and provides a contrast ratio of greater contrast ratio (1,000,000:1 vs 1,400:1) with more power savings.
Performance:
On paper, the iPhone X is far greater than the iPhone 8’s performance hardware, but in reality, both will provide almost the same speed. The iPhone X an iPhone 8 feature an Apple A11 ‘Bionic’ Chipset that comes with a six core CPU and three core GPU processor, with M11 Motion coprocessor.
The iPhone X has 3GB of RAM while the iPhone 8 has 2GB of RAM. The extra RAM feels important but due to a lower resolution display, and a single lens camera on the iPhone 8, both smartphones will have almost the same real world performance.
Camera:
The iPhone 8 has a single lens 12MP camera while iPhone X has a dual lens 12MP camera with f/1.8 and f/2.4. Both the smartphones feature Auto-Focus, OIS, quad-LED (dual tone) flash. Users can capture some high standard photos through both the camera smartphones.
The faster aperture size on iPhone X, however, will provide better light conditions and even more options in the portrait mode.
Charging & Battery Life: The Crux
Apple hasn’t made any tangible improvements in iPhone 8 sadly and its battery life is sickening. The iPhone X on the other hand is said by Apple to last 2 hours longer than iPhone 7. We don’t actually know how true their claim will be, but Apple shows the two battery boosting features are the talk time and the audio playback.
The exciting thing here is the wireless charging feature, which is implemented in all Apple Smartphones. The iPhone 8 works with a Qi charger that charges a little slower in comparison with the iPhone X which charges 50 percent of the battery in under 30 minutes.
Other Features that Matter:
We discussed earlier that Apple iOS 11 is called the ‘Bionic’ OS. But why? The reason it is being called Bionic is because it can process 600 billion operations in a second. It can learn when a user is wearing glasses, hat, or if the user is actually showing his face or a photo through its Face ID facial recognition feature.
The Face ID feature takes three dimensional scan of the face to observe the details and store an image in its memory. These neural networks then combine to match the image with the face on display to unlock the smartphone.
Apple claims the facial recognition technology is faster, smarter, and secure and of course error-free – but only time will verify the last part. Where data is the key to the future, Apple promises the facial recognition data will remain on the smartphone. How well their claim holds is a matter of time, though.
The iPhone 8, on the other hand, doesn’t feature face ID. It has the same Old Touch ID, which the iPhone 7 users will love.
Compare Prices:
The good news is that iPhone 8 is already available for purchase for just $50 more on the iPhone 7’s price. The bad news is that you will have to wait two months to get your hands on the iPhone X.
The price of iPhone 8 is $699 for the 64GB version and $849 for the 256GB version.
The price for iPhone X is $1000 for the 64GB version and $1150 for the 256GB version.
The latter is available for $300 more for features such as wireless quick charge, facial recognition, larger screen with OLED, more portrait mode features and many other small features that will have some impact in your life.
Verdict for iPhone X vs iPhone 8:
Some of the best smartphones of this year have already been released. Now, it is just a matter of choice. The iPhone 8 will suit those users who have already used iPhone 7 and don’t want to experience a design change.
The iPhone X will suit users who want to move with the Apple wave and see what they are offered from one of the finest, design conscious, smartphone makers on the planet.
